Preparing for school is an exciting time in a child’s life and Mi Kinder staff are here to support your child during this learning journey, while having fun along the way. Our teachers use a variety of engaging strategies and materials where children are taught through games and Play. We support their unique personalities, interests and individual growth.

What’s provided for your Preschool and Grade R child at Mi Kinder EC?
Our Grade R programme uniquely combines the South African CAPS curriculum with the international Cambridge curriculum , offering learners the best of both worlds. This balanced approach builds a strong foundation in early literacy, numeracy, and life skills, while nurturing curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. We introduce new themes every two weeks, sparking interest and encouraging exploration across a wide range of topics. Our caring and stimulating environment helps children develop confidence, independence, and a genuine love for learning, preparing them for success in Grade 1 and beyond.
Our Preschool offers:

A beautiful, well maintained playground with wooden jungle gyms, sand pit and safe riding track to develop gross motor skills;

Shaded area with wooden tables for children to eat or do activities;

Spacious and well-equipped classrooms with bathroom facilities;

A library where children choose books to take home every Friday.

Intramural Activities
The following activities are included in the fees for children enrolled Mon-Fri for the 2024 school year and will be subject to review every year. Children attending 3 times a week and Option 2 fees will not include certain activities.

Meals
Our menu is supervised by a nutritionist and it is designed to teach our children healthy eating habits. Our lunch is cooked or baked, low in gluten, salt and sugar, free of dairy products and no processed foods.
All children from Weavers Class (3-4 years) until Grade R must bring a healthy snack box for Morning Snack at 10: 00 am.
Healthy lunch and afternoon snack will be provided for aftercare students.
